Help me decide where next to go in Mexico.

Hello everyone! I am trying to plan a special 10th anniversary trip and it seems the more research I do, the more confused I become. Please help, I need all the advice I can get.
This is what I am looking for:
Small luxery hotel on a great beach. (Don't like all-inclusives or mega resorts.)
Close to an authentic mexican town for exploring. (I like to get out of the hotel and "feel" like I am in Mexico.)

My favorite place so far in Mexico is the Casa Que Canta in Zihautanejo and I would like to find a new place that is similar.

Any advice?
Thanks

Few places come to mind south of Cancun (NOT CANCUN!!).

Maroma
Ikal del Mar
Esencia
Paraisio de la Bonita (sp?)

The Posada in Manzaillio might be good. Very nice smallish rooms w/view, pool & a great beach. Manza is a very Mexican town as beach towns go, A working port but interesting. If looking for smaller suggest Melaque Or Barr De Navadad just north of there.

Stayed at CocoCabanas on the Isla de Navidad (X the inlet from Barra de Navidad over Christmas. It's a new ecolodge: very quiet, great food and nice young staffers.
In addition to Jason's Asian-Fusion, we liked Rest Isadora in Barra; Rest Maya in Melaque and Rest Mosco's on the beach in Tenacatita (the grilled red snapper "Mosco's" was super).

we stayed at the paradelsol in pia de qeuso just outside of acapulco, what paradise!! several bungalow type villas each with your own outdoor couch and daybed . the area is around a huge freshwater lake on one side and the ocean on the other , you have your choice what side to stay on, the property is huge ! with lovely lush grounds, a huge ocean front pool with bar , great food ( all inclusive) , good entertainment , weight room tennis courts . very quiet and laid back area acapulco is a short ride away 25mins, the best of both worlds, quiet and peacefull hotel area and the city of acapulco nearby for exploring. you do not have to take the all inclusive but well worth it as the hotel is very quiet and the most we had at breakfast and dinners was around 50-60 people . i can provide an email address so you can look at the hotel online . picasso canada

Spent last April in Huatulco at the most romantic B&B--Agua Azul La Villa--it's in the Resedencial Conejos area but a short cab ride into town. www.bbaguaazul.com There are only 7 rooms and each room is on a separate level--no common walls. Each room has a patio with hammock or lounge chairs. Overlooks the ocean with a short walk to a nice bay. Excellent for a special anniversary! Kandi

I think Picasso is referring to Pie de la Cuesta?!
