help deciding tours arenal

I think I am over thinking this... we have 2 1/2 days in arenal. We want to zip line for sure. I am staying at los lagos but I get the impression their zip line is not as good as the sky tram or arenal parasios??? I wanted to do cano negro but daughter does not want to take a whole day for this tour is the safari float a nice alternative?? I know we will not see as much wildlife. I have looked at the combo tours has anyone done these?? I am considering the volcano hike but would the hikes at Los Lagos be similar? help Thanks

For the ziplines at Arenal, the two I've read the most favorable reviews for are SkyTrek and Mundo Aventura. We did SkyTrek and really enjoyed it.

The two hikes I'd recommend are the La Fortuna Waterfall (very short hike but lots of steps) and the volcano hike (in the park.) You don't need a guide at all for the waterfall but a guided hike around the volcano's a good idea.

Hi cmazza,

We also really liked Sky Trek/Sky Tram for ziplines in Arenal. Definitely an adrenaline rush with great views of the volcano.

The Cano Negro tour does take a good chunk of a day, but there's a reason why it gets so many recommendations! We loved it! You do get back into town around 3:00-ish, so it's not like you have no time left for anything else. We had a nice meal out and then visited one of the hot springs after our Cano Negro excursion.

We didn't really do any formal hiking in Arenal (just around our hotel grounds), but I would like to visit both the waterfall and the national park (as mentioned by sumi). You can probably make that call once you get there. Los Lagos will have a tourist info desk to help you weigh the options...

You could easily do a day of Cano Negro plus a trip to a hot springs. It's a very nice combo--we did it (just be sure to eat in town instead of at the springs itself if you go to Baldi).

Arenal Park is awesome--you should definitely do that part. We didn't do the Sky Tram or zip line--my wife is afraid of heights!
