Hanging bridges - Arenal or Monteverde?

Hi again everyone!

As my trip gets closer and closer, my fiance and I are hammering out a tentative schedule of things to do. One question we have not found a good answer to is where to do the hanging bridges. In Arenal or in Monteverde? Both look great, both have a similar price.

Any suggestions? Any experiences with a particular company?

Thanks! :)

I agree, Selvatura in Monteverde has a very nice set up. Reasonable price, lovely hike through the cloud forest over several bridges. (There's also a butterfly garden, ziplines, etc. There's also a gift shop, restaurant, nice restrooms, and a separate hotel on site.)

We did the Hanging Bridges in Arenal and thought it was a beautiful hike. If the weather cooperates, you get a great view of the active volcano. If you go with a guide, you'll greatly increase your chance of seeing wildlife. Surprisingly, the restaurant there has really good food. We were expecting a snack bar and had good casados and delicious batidos.

I would do the hanging bridge at Arenal and the zip line at Selvatura! That zip line is so much fun..........I was in my mid fities when I did it! You do not see wild life on a zip line..........for obvious reasons. Lots of fun and not as scary as you think. By the time you get on the 4th or 5th line, the fear is gone.
