RB you are a never ending source of info. The one time we set foot into Guatemala we were a nervous wreck. 17 year olds with sawed off shotguns everywhere. Our Mayan guide from Belize kept warning us not to look at them. Our son, being younger and still invincible, spent a couple of weeks there and loved it. I would love to see some of the things he was so amazed by. Don't know about those chicken buses though. My sister in law adopted a boy from there many years ago and he is doing great. It would be nice if they could feel safe enough for him to see where he came from. Will definitely be watching for more good news about safety issues.
