Now I can say I'm leaving TOMORROW! I'll be absent from the forum for the next month while I'm away in CA. There will probably only be 3 or 4 posts that aren't about Costa Rica or Mexico in that time so I likely won't be missed.

I'll post a travelogue in late August when I'm home and get my wits about me. In the mean time - HAPPY TRAILS!

Hi, all -
Already having a blast in Guatemala. My best message to all of you who love CA is LEARN TO SPEAK SPANISH. I have had some of the most remarkable experiences of my life in the last 10 hours because I can engage locals in conversation. For example, I spent more than an hour today haring the fascinating life story of an 85-year-old man who lives behind the ice cream shop near my Spanish school and all it cost me was a mango cone for me and a chocolate cone for him.

Sindy - It does sound like a lot but spread over 5-6 weeks it won't be as hectic as it looks in print. We'll have 3 places where we spend a week, so plenty of time to exlore the area and kick back a bit.

Happy trails, everyone!

hopefulist,
So glad your finally there. You will need to start a new TR. How ironic that I started a photo TR on my MAC this afternoon. Can't wait to hear all the details.

I missed this - it was while I was traveling and not checking the forums much. Let me know if you want to read the report and can't find it - it was another wonderful trip - great memories.
