Guanacaste vs. Manuel Antonio

Assuming both of these areas have pretty beaches, which area is nearer for interesting day hiking, decent snorkling, and a variety of animal sightings? I don't mind traveling a little, but I don't want to be riding long distances to get to these types of activities. Many thanks.

I'd say Manuel Antonio, although I am not sure about snorkeling. I don't think there is any great snorkeling in Costa Rica as the ocean is very open with minimal reefs.

Totally agree with Iza. Manuel Antonio is a better area for all that's on your list.<BR>
