Guanacaste Drive Times

Can anyone give me approximate drive times for:
Liberia to Huacas on 21 and 155?
Huacas to Flamingo through Brasilito?
Huacas to Tamarindo on 155?
Liberia to Rincon de la Vieja?
Trying to plan some day trips at the end of Feb. out of Playa Flamingo. Thank you.

Surely--one of our favorite "stomping grounds"!

Huacas to Flamingo--about 20 min.
Huacas to Tamarindo--close to the same
Liberia to RdlV--depends on area--about an hour to 1.5

Good ole Guanacaste--enjoy!

We still want to know how long it takes form Liberia to Huacas. The times in the 07 fodor are confusing.

Oh, excuse me! Overlooked that one. ..about an hour to Huacas. Maybe 55 minutes. . . :)

Thanks, the Fodor's book agrees with you on Liberia to Tamarindo, but listed 3 hours from Liberia to Flamingo. Maybe that route was down the 'Monkey Road' and into Flamingo from the North.

No, it will take about 1.5 hour at most. That road to Flamingo is definitely not as good as it was a year or two ago, but still--about 1.5 hour. Actually, we found the Congo Trail to be an excellent alternative for getting to Flamingo. Saved us about 30 min. It's a dirt road, but generally in good shape. A couple of little river crossing, very shallow, not too wide. If you drive on Highway 21, then into Huacas, it will take you almost EXACTLY the same amount of time to get to Tamarindo and it will to get to Flamingo.
