faithie - absolutely. That is exactly why we chose CR, we are looking for something different. I personally am excited about it being lush, exotic, wild, etc. Can't always do the same thing and same type of trip.

Hi! Hope I can join in the fun. We are going in April. Visited MA in 1977 and can't wait to go back. I know it will be diferent as there was only thatch roof huts on the beach back then. Actually I noticed you were talking about snorkeling at Bisanz Bay. How far out from the shore is it? Do you think a 5 year old with good swimming skills for his age could do it with a lifejacket. Do they rent snorkel equipment or should we bring our own. Sorry to butt in but I appreciate any help. Thanks! Holly

The "snorkeling " is definitely just so-so , not really a must here . The vis. is not great , and not a whole lot to see . But , the 5 yr. old should have no problem if it is calm , which generally it is at this beach . Although if it has been raining through the night the vis. will be even less due to the run-off from the little river . There are "sometimes" a couple of guys who lay out their snorkel equipment on the sand , "sometimes not " . There is also a little snack hut which could be open , but do not count on it !! Just a side note ; if you walk here from the main road , no need for that pilates class ! Faith

RHR - Can you enlighten me more on Osa? I am planning a 3 weeks trip to CR and Osa is priority, can we rent a car and drive around Osa from Drake Bay to Corcovado. We like to hike a lot so that will be our primary activity - besides to try to see the animals and kayak. Thank you.

I was wondering if anyone could give advice on possible tours in MA? I have two full days there and am considering the damas mangrove tour, the Nauyaca Falls and of course hiking the park, but with only two days, there just isn't enough time...I have heard a few things about the mangrove tour but not really a lot about the falls, has anyone done this tour that could share their opinions? Is it worth using up a full day to visit these falls?
