Going solo to playa del carmen
 

I am planning a trip to PDC in may. Am looking for recommendations on a boutqiue hotel, not interested in the all-inclusives. I am 45 and will be traveling solo. So far, la Tortuga and playa-Maya look inetresting. has anyone stayed there or do they have any other recommendations?

Playa Maya is great, we stayed there in 2003, but I don't think I'd term it a boutique hotel. It is very nice and spotlessly clean, and on a good stretch of beach in a good location.

I'd suggest Mosquito Blue or Deseo for a more "boutiquey" feel.
