Galapagos Video Camera?

We're headed to the islands in May aboard the Angelito and wondered if it would be a hassle taking a video camera on the island tours?

Percy Apr 13th, 2005 06:57 AM

If the Video Camera is small and in a carry bag ,then I do not think it is any "big" hassle at all.

You do come back to the boat after your morning trip for about a 2 hour rest to eat and relax a bit before departing again for your afternoon island trip.

Is it a hassle...yes a bit BUT,this is a tripof a lifetime and if you want to have video memories forever, then put up with a little "hassle"

I am sure"Lonesome George" at the Darwin Resarch Centre would like to be on your video !!!

We didn't bring one but others on our boat did. If it's small, I don't think it's any more of a hassle than a still camera. Just make sure you have something to protect it on the panga rides to keep it from getting wet.

Yesterday on TV on the OUT channel, they had a one hour documentary on the Galapagos.
It was very good, and very nice to see for all of us who had been there recently.

Every evening this channel has a different place to visit.
It is under the heading of "Don't Foget Your Pasport"

I mention this just in case you have this OUT channel and the topic gets repeated soon.

They showed you almost all the Islands in the Galapagos.

Percy,
What is the OUT channel? Don't believe we get this one - we have Directv.

Percy Apr 14th, 2005 05:40 PM

Hi Patty

We have a lot of channels as I am sure everyone else does as well.

The OUT channel is just another typical channel.
I am sure the OUT must stand for outdoors.
It is like Bravo
CNN
Fox

The main topic is alway entitled:
"Don't Forget Your Passport"

And then each day there is a new adventure site.
Tonight it is Kenya

They have had Panama, Caribbean Islands
Bali, Tunisia , Scotland, and just a few days ago it was Galapagos.

The shows runs for an hour, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to sit and watch the Galapagos Islands and see about 95 % of all the places I went to.

Scan your TV guide everyday and see if your area has this OUT channel.

Thanks. Sounds like a "go" on the video. Wish we had OUT.

Patty Apr 15th, 2005 10:11 AM

I checked and we don't get OUT either. Too bad, I would have loved to have seen the Kenya episode.

Bou you people are really missing out..

No pun intended for the word out.

Yesterday the episode was Quito / Ecuador and surrounding area...for a whole hour !!!
Saw all of Quito again, Otavalo , Cotopaxi , the Centre of the "world" Bellavista Cloud Forest etcv. .

They took you on a nice tour to all these places.

You really saw a lot of the local people in smalltown, which was just great.
It was nice to relive these memories again!!

Sorry , you do not get this channel.
