G.A.P Adventure tours--

Hi, I'm considering one of this company's "independent tours" Does anyone have any info. on them? I am a 50-ish female traveling with a friend. I've traveled much in Europe, but not so much in Central America. I wonder about the age range of these tours and the quality of the hotels--but like the independence of this style of tour. Helpful comments appreciated

My friend who just turned 50 is going on a Gap adventure tour in Feb. He is doing the Costa Rica Quest. He just signed up for it last week so he hasn't received his information yet. I will let you know more details after he gets his information.

I asked similar question on all of the major boards here a few months back. Do a search, type in GAP adventures on each board and see what comes back. There weren't too many replies, but they had some insight.

I believe that "independent" GAP tours are usually just tours that are farmed out to local operators, ie no GAP guide or group involved. For example their Pacuare rafting independent adventure is done through Aventuras Naturales.

My friend is booked and ready to go on his Gap adventure tour. I thought that they would send him all of his information as to where he is staying but it looks like he won't get the complete list until about ten days before. He starts his trip on Feb 24th. I will let you know when he gets more information. It does sound like a nice trip.
