I ate plenty in MA & don't think I spent more than $30 a day for B, L & D.

Great , gives me a better idea . The trip is a bit more of a budget trip since we have decided very last minute to take the kids , in fact they do not know , a suprise the day we leave !!!! Is Costa Verde an ok place ? I do not remember it at all , that plane by the road looks , um , interesting !? We have stayed at Villas Nicholas , Makanda , Colobri , and used to eat a lot at Barba Roja ! Yum !! The web site made it seem the beach was really close , but in fact it is a good walk along the road I believe ? Having a pool with the kids would be great since the ocean can be rough , any hotel input ?? Thanx Guys ! Faith

Costa Verde is a great place, you'll enjoy it. The plane sits outside a restaurant, El Avion, & is actually about a 1/2 mile up the road. The Anaconda restaurant on site is pretty fairly priced with great views & La Cantina, across the street, is good stop for dinner and listening to music. It is not directly on the beach, most in MA aren't, but you can take the bus for about a quarter and it runs very regularly. Have a great time!

Thanx Tully , Usually we like more intimate places , but for the kids this looks ideal . I remember a lot of names of places , but can only visualize where some are located . The photo of the smiling sloth on their website cracks me up ! If u think of any tips I am All ears ! Faith

Tully suggested Costa Verde for my daughter and myself. A delightful place. Such scenic views. I enjoyed the restaurant on the grounds. The rooms are nice for a family with a swimming pool nearby. We did not have a car so it was necessary for us to eat nearby which you can easily do from the Costa Verde. Then the Manuel antonio Park nearby easily gotten to by the bus will be an enjoyable place for your children.

We ate at Dos Locos in Quepos in August. Very inexpensive but delicious local food. Also ate at Le Grand Escape, which was a little pricier but deliciuous...in Quepos also.
