flip flops?
 

I'm starting to think about packing for my honeymoon next week! We'll be in Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Bariloche, and Iguazu. Normally in the hot weather I wear flip flops a lot, at least in the daytime when I'm not dressed up (or even sometimes..sneakers *gasp* i I'm walking a lot). I even sometimes wear flip flops out with a cute dress at night. Can I do that? Or will I look like a slobby tourist...

I'd say it's OK, particularly with "a cute dress", but I'm a guy, so what do I know? LOL!!!

I think it depends WHERE you are going at night. Not the city, but rather the type of restaurants, cafe, or club. How dressy or casual it is.

In Buenos Aires, there are plenty of girls wearing flip flops and little sandals. It is very hot right now, everyone is wearing small amounts of clothing ..
I don't think you would want to wear them at night though, some do but they are very feminine here and the girls wear pretty clothes and heels .. although when it is as hot as it is right now, anything goes.

My friend just sent photos of his home in Bariloche, I think flip flops will be fine there too ..

Flip flops will be fine in Iguazu --be careful when you walk out to visit the falls, might be slippery in them. Happy Honeymoon!

Agree on Iguazu & flip flops. When my sneakers got soaked I switched to flip flops and had several 'almost' falls. It was very hard to walk on the walkways and annoying that I constantly had to keep hold of the guard rails to keep upright.

You guys are great, thanks. I felt silly asking the question but thanks for not making me feel stupid. It's just that it's so cold in Chicago right now it's hard to remember what I wear during the summer! All I wear now when I go out are my leather boots...can't wait for the warmth though!

Although I meant to say, I'm a little nervous about the heat in Iguazu, I saw reports of 115 degrees "real feel" with the humidity, and obviously everything is outdoors. Oh well, I still think it's better than freezing here..
