Flamingo Beach, Costa Rica
 

Anyone familiar with this area? We are looking to rent a 2 bed, 2 ba condo in late Dec for 4 people and found this on VRBO - http://www.vrbo.com/145369 Thoughts? Familiarity with Endless Condos or the area? We are 2 adults with 2 college age girls. We would like to be at the beach for a week and then sightsee for a few more days in Costa Rica, just starting to do planning. If this is not a good area, please suggest another. I assume we will need to rent a car while we are at the beach, or is there good public transportation?

We are thinking of a multi destination trip into LIR and out of SJO - does this make sense? Also looking for airfare as I have the feeling that with oil prices increasing, airfare will increase drastically. Any thoughts on that as well? Thanks much!

If you want to by right on the beach for aweek, you may want to look father. Study the photos to see that the beautiful beach is a NEARBY beach, while the area in front of the condos seems to be rocky.

That's "farther" not "father."

Flamingo is a great area and easy to get to. If you are spending your whole time in Flamingo - except for day trips - you might as well fly in and out of Liberia.

It really depends on where else you go and what you want to pay for airline tickets. Flying in and out of SJO is usually cheaper, but not always.

There is good public transportation but renting a car gives you much more freedom and flexibility.

There are many interesting day trips available, including trips to four National Parks: Rincon de la Vieja, Miravalles, Tenorio and Palo Verde. All two hours or less from Flamingo.

In addition, there are many water-based activities available including 1/2 or whole day trips for snorkeling or just sightseeing.

Lots of good restaurants, too. We make it a point to go there for a few days every year. Love the beach there--it is SOOO beautiful, renowned for fab sunset viewing!
