Five Cool Rooms

Has anyone stayed here who can comment on the hotel? I've seen a few positive references to it, but no real reviews. It doesn't even exist yet on Trip Advisor. Their website is still under construction so there isn't much there yet in the way of photos, which I know can sometimes be misleading anyway.

We tried to book Bobo, but it is full for my week. Five has availability, but I'm hesitant to book there until I get some feedback.

Right now we are booked at NH Jousten.

In the Palermo Soho area , the new kid in the block is Five Hotel , whose website will be in aprox. 10 days uploaded.

Found the standard rooms ( bright new) to be small for USA preferences being the bigger ones , standard or still small, in terms of space.
Bathrooms have design details, TV in every room,AC. Of a simple but nice style.
For Internet they have a room with 4 PCs. available for surfers.
Prices were on the U$S 150 range.
No restaurant .
Location in Palermo Soho is very good and close to bars and restaurants .
The front desk people were friendly and knowledgable for the tourist that vsists BA .

All of what Santiagov says is true about Five. The rooms are small but hip....but at $150 perr night, on the pricey side in my opinion...

i was told the rooms were less $80 being the least expensive and $120 being the most expensive. i was also told the bathrooms were w/jacuzzi and the senior suites ($100.00) had balconies to the street. i haven't stayed there either but the rooms that i want at the bobo and malabia are already booked.

Bali :

True , prices in Palermo Soho area , specially Malabia House and Five were on that range but not anymore. Bobo still maintains end of 2004 prices .
Therefore would be my choice as rooms are very nice looking and service is very good too.
Went dinning last night ( had changed menus ) and food wasnīt as GREAT as in other occasions, but still very cheap ( Aprox. U$S 15 / 20 ) , full course

we stayed at 5 cool rooms for just one night last week. 80usd, but pretty tiny. not enough room for a suitcase stand. but it's worth 80 bucks anyway, just for the interior design and the prime palermo soho location. the front desk people were friendly. complimentary continental breakfast.

calden is an excellent argentinian restaurant just a few doors down.

the front desk people did show us the other 2 room layouts (100 and 120 usd)which were bigger. if we were to stay at the 5 again for more than one night, we would book at least the $100 room just for a little more elbow room.

coincidentally, we stayed at the nh-jousten at the beginning of our trip. it was fine and a little roomier than our little 5 room, but nothing very interesting about it. the breakfast was heartier at the nh. and the location was a nice place to start looking around the city, as it is in downtown nearby the civic center, the opera house, calle florida, etc.

Thanks to all for the info. We went ahead and booked Five based on these comments. I hope we won't be disappointed. I was also quoted the same rates as O mentioned, $80 for the basic, $100 for the Senior (jacuzzi, balcony, and refridgerator), and $120 for the Deluxe (same as Senior, but bigger with a sofa). We decided to go for the $100 room to get a bit more space.
