Usually the cheapest and more convenient solution to visit Foz do Iguaçu is a package tour (transport + hotel with breakfast or half-board + some local excursions).
CVC, a major brazilian tour operator, offers 4 and 5 days packages by plane, and a 5 days package by bus.
Last march, the price tag of CVC's 4 days package by plane was R$ 998 (approx. US$ 330).
Don't waste your time looking for alternative solutions.
Open CVC website, click on "Viagens Nacionais", click on "Aéreas" (transportation by plane) or on "Rodoviárias" (transportation by bus), then click on "Cataratas do Iguaçu":

Have a pleasant stay at Foz do Iguaçu.

Thank you for your advice--I would like to be able to look at these tour options in English--do you know any way to email someone to get information about these tours in English?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You'll probably have to stop in Sao Paolo. I went from Iguacu to Rio on Varig about 2 years ago and the flight stopped in Sao Paolo. I didn't have to get off the plane, it stopped for an hour to drop off and pick up passengers.

Thanks. I am also looking at this CVC tour option. I followed Dilermando's direction to CVC website. However, I didn't know how to proceed (or at least get a pricing) after I clicked "Cataratas do Iguacu" (Unfortunately I don't read Portuguese.) Has anyone else used this tour before or knows anything about getting infos on CVC? Any helps would be highly appreciated!
