Fiesta Americana Cancun-has anyone stayed there?

Planning to go to Cancun and staying at the Fiesta Americana, what are the beaches like, is it an all inclusive? What is your impression of the hotel?

I've stayed there and the beach directly in front of the hotel is probably the best or near the top for cancun. the hotel is clean and confortable. It had a more spanish flavour than the other hotel I've stayed at in Cancun (the omni). A lot more spanish speaking people stayed there. The pool area is fantastic. iI's directly across the street from one of the 3 shopping plazas and as such you will see more peddlers on the beach but not around the pool area. It's really right in the middle of the action zone. It is definitely equivalent to a Holiday Inn type hotel. Thearea is one of the best for swimming as the surf is not as rough as other areas in cancun. restaurants range from average to great within the complex but it really does not matter as you are within the major area for restaurants with a few decent ones just across the street. It was not all inclusive when I stayed therre but it may have changed. The view from the oceanview rooms was great. Enjoy.

I'm sorry but the hotel was the PITS! It is across the street from the beach. Not impressed with the rooms AT ALL. Infact, we switched on the second day to Presidente Inter-Continental and the entire trip became paradise. The service, facilities and beach was beautiful. The hotel sits directly on the beach, so does the restaurant and pool. You can do the inclusive here but we found that just having the breakfast and eating out was probably the best way to go. There are lots of restaurants. Good luck. Sorry to be negative on it, but it really wasn't that nice.

Oh Kelly, I was WRONG again! You DID stay in Cancun! Well, then, my FIRST comment sticks with respect to the Coral Beach property!!

I have stayed at the FACancun 6 times..it is the smaller of the 3 properties (there is the FACancun,FACondessa and the FAS Coral Beach) and much more personable. The beach is great and you are right on the strip of some of the most beautiful beaches on Cancun..and the hotel is right ON the beach. Not across the street. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

The person who said it is across the street obviously is mixed up and stayed at another hotel. It is RIGHT on the beach and is gorgeous, CLEAN, and the Service was wonderful, The pool area is landscaped beautifully and has a swim up bar, the beach is wonderful, and there are beach waiters as well. I highly recommend it and would go back again, there were 5 of us celebrating turning 40, we had 2 rooms with awesome views. They do offer all-inclusive, but there are too many restaurants withing walking distance including fast food, like KFC and McDonalds why do all inclusive. <BR>
