Feedback on our itinerary

We will be taking our first trip to Costa Rica this June and we would love feedback on our itinerary. We are traveling with our 8 year old son. Are we doing too much? Other recommendations? Thanks for all your help.

- 3 nights in Sarapiqui
Selve Verde Lodge

- 3 nights in Arenal
Tabacon Resort or Lost Iguana

- 2 nights Monteverde
Acro Iris Lodge? Fonda Vela?

4- nights Manuel Antonio
Hotel Costa Verde or Si Como No?

1 night in San Jose (adventure Inn) since we have a very early morning flight.

Thanks!

I think it looks like a great trip. If you stay at Fonda Vela, try to get one of the new junior suits - they're really roomy with a frig and bathtub, nice view of the gardens. Their on-site restaurant is good. The new junior suites have two big beds and a little sitting area.

Sound like a great trip! Good amount of nights in each place.

Sounds like a great itinerary. We stayed at Arco Iris and Selva Verde and strongly recommend both.

La Posada in Manuel Antonio is also a great place for kids--more of an inn than a resort, so fewer luxuries but about half the price (and it's the only hotel that actually borders the national park--you see everything from deer to monkeys regularly there).

Arenal Observatory Lodge has the best volcano views and wildlife, but the accomodations may be a bit rustic for your taste.

Also, I would shave a day off Manuel Antonio and add it to Monteverde (but we're not big beach people, so feel free to disregard this advice if you are).

We love the Lost Iguana - you might take a look at Los Lagos too - very popular with kids.
