Favorite Cabo San Lucas restaurants
What are your favorite Cabo restaurants? Are there any you make a point to visit while you're there? Mine are:
Maro's Shrimp House~great food, both Mexican and seafood. La Dolce~I love their pizza. :) Los Barilles~three of us had fish prepared three different ways~blackened, with mango salsa, and with a white wine sauce (prepared tableside). All three were excellent. We also had the bananas foster. Chamuyo~meat lover's paradise; large selection of grilled meats; cute courtyard setting. |
We like Mi Casa and Los Golondrinas. Mi Casa was up and running when I visited in December. Not sure about Los Golondrinas, since it is all outdoors, under the trees. These are both for special nights out. For a beach bar, we like Tabascos in front of Las Casadas.

Oops! It is La Golondrina.

It's been awhile since I've been in Cabo, but Misiones de Kino was my favorite place.

Trappers List (that you can find on the Trip Advisor Cabo San Lucas forum) is very good and kept up to date.

I've used Trapper's list........it's a great resource!! I'm going next month with some friends, and we're always looking for ones we haven't tried. I'll suggest Misiones de Kino and La Golondrina to them. Another one that came highly recommended was Maria Corona, which is on this list.

Thanks for posting the link MichelleY.
At Misiones de Kino it's not only for the food (which was very good the couple times I've eaten there) but also the atmosphere. It's hidden away on a side street near Mar de Cortez hotel downtown, and just feels, well like what a restaurant in Mexico should feel like -lol! |
Topping for any additional recommendations. We are going in April.
Thanks~ |
DebitNM, i think everything's still current mentioned above? and I'm sure Trapper's List would be.

I was just down ther last month, staying in San Jose. We did make over to CSL a couple of times. Had lunch one day at Solomon's Landing. We took a sunset jazz cruise on the Tropicat and it was excellent. Wine, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres. Would do this again. We finished up at Mi Casa with giant margaritas and more food. My recs pretty much are the same, but have read some negative comments regarding Gordo Lele.

Thanks suze and Michelle for the updates. The cruise sounds great!

Thanks for the Gordo Lele update MichelleY. That's sad to hear.

Time for an update on this thread............ I'm headed to Cabo in a few weeks! Any new favorites?
Last year, we discovered a tacqueria that had some of the best, inexspensive tacos I've ever had. We were walking by and noticed it was all locals lined up, no tourists.... It's called Gran Pastor, and it was great! The chorizo is especially yummy. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...alifornia.html Las Guacamayas was recommended by a local, and it was very good. I especially liked their stone bowl with a variety of roasted meats and veggies. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...alifornia.html |
Will look forward to reading this thread. I haven't been recently to be able to add anything.

We were in San Jose in November, so only made it to CSL for a sunset dinner cruise on the Rissalena. It was very nice, only 20 passengers.
We we had a car so did a day trip to Todos Santos. We stopped on the way in the town of Pescadero and had lunch at Hierbabuena. It is a farm to fork type place with gardens and a fresh menu. Low key with locals coming for special celebrations. We loved it. I had a watermelon salad with strips of carrots and jicama, dressed with a lime juice concoction. Hierbabuena Outside of San Jose, on the same road as the popular Flora Farm, we stopped for drinks at Acre. Acre is also a farm/fork place. Beautiful! Home For seafood in San Jose, El Toro Guero. Also ate at Tropicana and had great octopus. |
I just returned from Cabo...........we went to a few old favorites, Las Guacamayas, La Dolce, and Tacos Guss, all of which where great. We found a new favorite~ The Roasted Bar and Grill. We were a group of 12 adults and 2 children ( ages 7 and 4). We had several different entrees~ribeye, filet, lobster, shrimp, ribs, and pasta~and no one was disappointed. The steaks were perfectly cooked, the lobster and shrimp tender, the ribs fell off the bone, and the grilled veggies were amazing. We will be going back there!
