The Etoile is a faded star. Great location along the restaurant row in Recoleta....rooms on the upper floors overlook the park and the cemetary. Breakfast and service are fine.
The bad news is that this hotel has not been updated in many a year. The beds are weak and the wall paper is worn.
Loisuites Recoleta is a better choice in the same vicinity....book through a local travel agency in Buenos Aires for rates of about $95 per night.

this question is for drdawggy: do you know the name of a local travel agency in Buenos Aires? We will be visiting B.A. in April and are interested in Loisuites Recoleta. Do you recommend the Argenta also?
Gracias por su servicio..

Cintia at wowargentina.com is highly recommended by many people on this board, including me. Yes, the Argenta is a good choice as well...although it is in Retiro not Recoleta.....not a bad location, but not in the heart of Recoleta if that is what you are looking for.....
Another new agent in town is Mike. Mike, a guy from the U.S. has recently moved to BsAs and is working for an agency. His url is www.argentinago.com
Tell either of them that Dr. Dawggy referred you.
