Can you summarize the articles for us in a couple of sentences? Thanks very much.

Well, this is for the town of Buenos Aires only and the bottom line is that now you SHOULD be able to find a restaurant with a good non-smoking area. Internet cafés are supposed to be smoke free, as well as malls. The latter will be difficult to enforce, I believe.

Thank you very much. As a non-smoker planning on a trip to BA soon, I was concerned about the non-smoking scene.

Are the areas for the tango shows full of smoke? My husband cannot handle a smoke filled room. He begins to cough and is very uncomfortable. Should we avoid the shows and just watch the tango at San Telmo?

Good question. DrDawggy???

As I understand the new law in BA, any restaurant or cafe under a certain size is required to be completely non-smoking and to post a sign stating the fact. We live in Palermo and the effect has been immediate and wonderful! I can't speak for other areas of the city but our corner cafe has been smoke-free all week since the law was enforced. Larger restuarants were never much of a problem b/c they usually had adequate non-smoking space. As for the tango shows, I went to them before this law passed but I really don't remember alot of smoking taking place. You can always request a non-smoking table when you make the reservation.
