El Valle, Panama lodging
Looks like we are headed back to Panama. We did the Gamboa resort for a weekend in March. This time I'm thinking of the El Valle area for a few days on the weekend in June.
Can you recommend some lodging? Hopefully not more than $100 a night with breakfast. If we have to spend more for a nice place, we will do it. I believe we will have to rent a car, but at least one of us speaks spanish. Thanks so much. |
The Park Eden Bed and Breakfast is cute, and a good value. The owners are very friendly too. Here's the link:

I stayed at Park Eden last week. My family and I took the entire Linda Vista cottage, which is lovely though the "country decor" is perhaps a little over the top. The grounds are beautiful -- and lit up at night with white lights in the trees. Nearby is the Hotel Rincon, which is pleasant and also has a very good restaurant.
I enjoyed El Valle and I can see why it appeals to Panama City residents, but overall I much preferred the Highlands of Chiriqui -- Boquete and Cerro Punta. --Lan Sluder www.belizefirst.com |
We stayed at the Hotel Rincon. It was great to walk out the door in the morning and be greeted by humming birds...actually so many birds that you wake early in the morning to them.
It was very clean and nice. It was a very hot weekend (who said to bring a sweater?!) and fortunately the Rincon has airconditioning. The restaurant does not. The hotel owned by the german captain (the name escapes me) does not have air conditioning, so we left...my allergies, which I never knew I had, flared up, in the mildew smell without the air conditioning....but his grounds are lovely. |
Thanks for the trip report, tmt. Just out of curiosity, where do you live that El Valle is a weekend visit.

Have to agree:
Park Eden first, then Rincon Vallero and then Los Capitanes. Cheers, Andrew |
