El Tamarindo - Safe to Drink the Water?
I'm heading down to El Tamarindo shortly. Does anyone know if it is safe to drink the water, eat salads, etc., at the hotel? I don't want to be overly cautious if I don't have to be!
Thank you, JoniC |
That's a pretty up-scale place, I very much doubt there will be any problems.

Yes, have a fabulous time! We were there this time last year.

Patty, since you are familiar with the hotel, do you have any recommendations? Looks like a great place just to sit and do absolutely nothing. But also let me know if there are any must see's or must do's, or if you have any tips or other recommendations. We are really into birds, wildlife and nature, but appreciate it more when we are in nice accommodations, so El Tamarindo seems perfect. Can't wait!

If you're into birds and wildlife, you'll enjoy El Tamarindo. We saw deer and peccaries and had coatis walk by our casita (but never when I had my camera ready!) so don't leave any doors open when you go down to the beach unless you want them to get inside. There are some nice forest walks you can take on the property to look for birds and wildlife. We also went kayaking and snorkeling but the snorkeling isn't great. Saw a few fish including a puffer which was cool but the visibility wasn't good in Jan. You're right, it's a great place just to do nothing. Bring insect repellent as there were sand fleas on the beach (I'm an insect magnet). Here are my photos from last year if you'd like to take a look http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLan...localeid=en_US
