Just returned from this cruise on Lago Argentino. We spent 2 nights and 2 days on the cruiser with a total of 13 passengers and 3 crew members. The cruiser has 3 levels: sleeping quarters on the first (7 cozy bunk-bedded cabins all with private toilet and tub facilities with hot water), living/dining area on second level, and outdoor deck on third level. The second level is comfortable but you get to know your traveling companions. Not too much space for privacy there but if you enjoy your new friends as much as we did, it doesn't matter. Food was excellent, with nice Malbec and white wines served with lunch and dinner. The cruise visits three glaciers and because of the size of the boat, you get closer to the glaciers. You also spend a lot more time at the glaciers than the one-day cruisers. Where else can you enjoy a nice lunch in the shadows of a 10-story glacier? It is an expensive trip but it's like a private charter service. Unlike the 200-300 day-cruisers who are jammed into airline seats on a boat for 6 hours, you have space and room to walk around to enjoy the scenery with only 13 other passengers. We enjoyed our trip and do recommend it. Tips: leave most of your luggage at the tour office because the cabins are small with no storage space, bring warm clothes because it can be cold (we are looking at glaciers after all), and the lake can get choppy so bring motion sickness medicine.
