Driving Time

Hello,

Could someone tell me the driving time between Arenal and Monteverde, then Monteverde to Dominical. We would be going in July and rent our own car.

Thank you

All you need is a handy dandy online travel map, and there happens to be one right here - http://www.yourtravelmap.com/costari...hp?&width=1280

Just pop in the start and end destination and it will give you detailed directions and times to most of the more known areas of the country.
Cheers

Basically, 3 hours for Arenal to Monteverde, and from Monteverde to Dominical 5 hours (http://www.govisitcostarica.com/trav...travelTime.asp)
Both are beautiful drives: the first is very bumpy toward the end, so you would probably want to be sure to have a 4WD (Jimney is fine). The newly paved highway will probably make the time from Monteverde faster than 5 hours, but it's good to allow extra time for crocodile viewing from the Tarcoles Bridge.

Where is the crocodile viewing? W here in the route is the Tarcoles bridge?

It's on Highway 34 (the main route); a little less than 1/2 from Puntarenas to Quepos (north of Quepos). It's a fairly new bridge (replacement), and there are parking spots and shopping stalls/cafes (sodas) on both sides of the road on the northern end. Although thieves are supposedly not a big problem anymore, I'd still take turns viewing the crocs!

Better to say it's not far (about 10 miles south) from where highway 34 begins in the north (the junction of 27 and 3).

Thank you everybody for your great advices. Crocs viewing on top of that, awesome! Please let me know if there are any other attractions worth stopping for.
