Driving in North Pacific, or hire driver

We'll be in CR third week in February. We've rented a car but apprehensive about driving around (pot holes, getting lost, etc.). Appreciate advice about two issues: From Playas del Coco, where we are staying, what interesting day trips (5 hours or so) can we take? Second, if we want to go to MA or other fun but hard-to-get to places, is it possible to hire a driver/guide? And if so, how much do they usually cost? And how do we go about finding that person? Thanks.

Here are a few leads for drivers.
Email them with dates and places and ask for a quote.

Have a wonderful journey!

you can do a day trip on the biggest yacht in the area - the Don Bosco or go on a day trip to Rincon de la Vieja.
Coco is also a dive and sportfishing center:

Should you decide to drive, Guanacaste (and down to MA) an easy area to get around in. . .

For a driver: we used Oscar Mora last October for a week. He was great. Knew about everything and was fun to be with. We thought he was very reasonable.
