Driving from San Jose to Liberia CR

It looks like this drive is about 135 miles. Does anyone know how bad the roads would be on this trip? Any estimate on how long it might take in March with a 4x4? Thanks for the help!

You will be on the Pan American Highway all the way so no need for a 4x4. The road is paved and in good shape but only one lane in each direction so it may be a bit slow outside of San Jose when you are going through the mountains (especially if you get stuck behind a truck!). I'd say 3 to 3 and a half hours.
