Drive from Panama To Belize
So being the adventurous type and only having 15 days to explore, I have come up with the idea that is a little out there. My girlfriend and I were thinking of buying a car in Panama and exploring up to Belize, where we would try and sell the car, then return home. This may not be an option with as much red tape one must navigate crossing the border. So I guess I am looking to see if someone has done something like this, or has a better idea on how to explore a few CA countries while maintaining the freedom to go where you want. Thanks for the help

I would scrap that idea as being unworkable on multiple levels. Not revise, scrap and start over.
Best idea would be to pick 1-2 countries and see which have sights you want to explore. Then worry about logistics like transporation (rent car vs public bus etc). Forget about seeing more than 2 countries--not plausible. |
Agreed. Limit yourself to one or two countries in such a short time. Stick with public transportation.
Forget about buying and selling a car. You cannot enter a country with a vehicle and leave without it. Renting a car will be problem unless you limit yourself to one country. Rental cars in Central America cannot cross borders. |
Completely agree! Too short for 15 days! However let me provide you this good website for buses around Central America, in case you want to do at least two countries:

I take a Sailboat to Cartagena so I don´t need it anymore. Price $1500 |
That's one way to get around the Darien Gap. ;)
