Don't Cry for Me Argentina

Because we absolutely loved it. Should have gone here years ago. Friendly people, great hotels, obscenely delicious food (hello weight watchers) great fly fishing, Igauzu and Perito Moreno...Wow!

If you're thinking of making this trip and need a little help, email Isabel at contact@buenosaires tours.com.ar. Her charges are very modest and the service is out of the world. She discreetly followed us all over the country to make sure rooms were ready, flights on time and cabs were scheduled. Saved our bacon when United delayed our flight home by 6 hours. You won't regret having her as a guardian angel......

Al, I'm glad you had such a good time. We go in 3 weeks and are so excited.
Isabel is already looking after us and we aren't even there yet! She's amazing.

Weadles Mar 12th, 2008 06:15 PM

We're going next Christmas, and already Isabel has been invaluable. Please post a full trip report, ColoradoAl. Thanks!

Isabel is a local independent travel agent I usually suggest in this forum for obtaining local flights, hotels, tours, etc.

The fact that she works on her own almost assures you of good service, because her income is directly related to her performance and the word-of-mouth publicity from her happy customers, as you can read above.

I'll call her attention to this thread, so she can say thank you to the above posters.

Have a great time in our country, with Isabel as your "guardian angel", as the OP calls her.

I am Isabel and sincerely thank Al and Jill for their visiting this country and wish Kody and Weadles the same experience.

But also to Avrooster and Dawwgy for their constant support, advice and assistance to every person who needs
help when planning a trip to Argentina.

Hi ColoradoAl:

Glad you had a great time! I'm headed to Argentina as well, and I have questions about your trip to see Perito Mereno.

How many days were you there? Did you fly directly from BA and stay in El Calafate? Did you see the glacier on your own, or did you have the TA arrange a tour for you?

I'm really curious - I contacted WoWArgentina asking about a 2-night trip to El Calafate, and they said it would cost between $800-$900. Curious if your trip was a similar cost. Thanks! -M

M: Why don't you ask Isabel for a quote?

We loved it too!! I just posted my long-and-not-very-interesting trip report.

Perito Moreno is not to be missed, in my humble opinion.

Magellan 5

Our trip took us to B.A. for 3 days, up to Iguazu for 2 days, San Martin for 5 days of fly fishing (outstanding) Bariloche for 3 days on down to El Calafate for 3 days. Stayed at Kau Yantun in Calafate which was great.

Don't know what the cost was for that leg of the trip as it was all mushed together. You can pick up a really good description of tours at the hotel and sign up before 7 for the next day. We did the ice treking excursion which was a blast.

Talk to Isabel about tours and the cost. She will not mislead you as some of the excursions are not worth what they charge.

Have a great trip, I'm ready to go back.......Al

Trust in Isabel.

kodi Mar 15th, 2008 11:38 AM

I agree, talk to Isabel.

Weadles Mar 16th, 2008 11:48 AM

This is "Weadles" speaking. I just wanted to thank Isabel for her good wishes, and let her and everyone else know that she's been fantastic in helping me arrange our upcoming trip to Argentina and Brazil.

I just arrived home today, and am still too tired to do a trip report....but will.
I just wanted to chime in again to sing the praises of Isabel.
She is wonderful. I have never met a harder working, or more sincere and dedicated travel agent. And she looked after every little detail.
She went way over and above for us.
Absolutely wonderful woman.. and a great sense of humour too ( right Isabel???)

Not only did we feel 'looked after' but it was a pleasure talking to her.. and dealing with her...
