does it rain all day during the rainy season in guatemala?

Quick question to those of you who have been to Guatemala in June? I know it's the rainy season, but is that like the rainy season in the caribbean when it rains for an hour in the afternoon or is it real rain, a lot of the day, everyday? Thanks for your input and shared experiences.

In a normal year, it's more the former. It might rain for a couple of hours in the afternoon or evening in June.

It varies between areas but in my experience the rains are either mainly at night (lowland areas) or start in the afternoon (western highlands); either way most of the days have been sunny and nice during my summer visits. Happy trails!

yes, you should not be concerned about a full rainy day, rain mostly comes in the afternoon and it goes away in a couple of hours. it is pretty much the same pattern in all of central america.
