Destination suggestion (outside of U.S.) for March?
Looking for destination suggestions for a trip in, or around, March of 2007? (Time of year is a coincidence- we are not 'Spring Breakers'). We would be leaving from the U.S. & only have about 8-10 days. We would like to go outside of the U.S. and somewhere that is relatively inexpensive, or at least reasonable.
We've already been to Costa Rica & Brazil. Therefore, we're looking for other suggestions. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

I second Panama. Maybe also Ecuador, or Buenos Aires. Also Cuba, if you're not afraid of going through a third country. Also Paraguay, or Machu Picchu and Lake Titikaka.

What are your interests? Rafting, caving, hiking, snorkeling, diving, villages, indigenous groups, ruins? If you tell us more about yourselves we might advise you better.
I think Honduras is a great destination, and quite cheap. In 10 days you could visit the beautiful ruins of Copán, enjoy some outdoor adventure around La Ceiba, then head to one of the Bay Islands before flying home. Happy trails! |
Mexico, Guatemala, Belize - how about Cuba?
Depends on your accommodation requirements. You'd get more value for money in the above suggestions, but if you stay cheap -and I don't mean basic - I mean cheap and cheerful - then NZ is not expensive once you are there. Ditto Fiji. Or how about Ghana - no on second thoughts that's probably not a good idea - probably no direct flights from the US to Ghana. Always South Africa if you are travelling from the East Coast. Look - I wouldn't go that far personally for 8-10 days, but Americans tend to do things differently. |
Here are a couple places you may not have thought of:
Jordan - I was there recently and was simply amazed! There is so much to see, it's unbelievable. There is a direct flight from Detroit (I am in Kuwait but originally from Michigan). You could also try Sri Lanka (take a direct flight from US to UAE to Columbo, Sri Lanka. Last thought would be Portugal. I was there last summer and fell in love with it. No direct flight that I am aware of from the US but there may be something now. Portugal is still pretty inexpensive. I have some additonal info on these places on my site http://www.bombasticlife.com |
