My Girlfriend and I are arriving in San Jose on Sunday in the early afternoon. Does anyone know of a decent, reasonably cheap place to stay where we can check out the city... or better yet, will we have enough time to drive strait up to Arenal.<BR><BR>Many thanks in advance - Brian

You can prob make it to Arenal if it doesn't take too long to get your car. Sunset is about 6PM all the time. There are 1000's of places in SJ; I have heard of a few nice places in the Alajuela (airport) area. Good luck, you'll have a great time. Make Fortuna Falls one of your "must do" items!

We stayed at El Presidente. It was right on the main strip of town. We were able to walk to many things. It's a moderate hotel, about $50.00 a night.

Check out the Holiday Inn downtown as they run specials. We stayed there for $75.00/ night with breakfast.
