Day trip from Manuel Antonio
Can someone help w/advice on a day trip from MA next month? I've heard Jaco's not worth the trip. Unfortunately, I won't have a car so is there anywhere else w/in a 2 hour bus/cab ride you'd recommend? Thanks!

What kind of things are you looking to do?
|
Nothing in particular. Maybe a nice hike w/some wildlife; a cool little town; something a little "off the beaten path"; combo of those three? Just something different than MA I guess.
|
Go check out Dominical. It will take about 1 1/2 hours to get there down a really, really bumpy road. But it's a cool little surf town, not too much there really. But you can drive on a great road from there on south and check out some nice beaches. Go drive up to "Pacific Edge Lodge" for lunch or a beer to check out the view. You'll see the sign on the road.
Oh, I just read you won't have a car. You should rent a car for a day and do this. Other then that there are 100 activities to do in and around MA. White water raft, zip lines, kayak, canoe, fish..... |
I'm sure we can get a car, thanks for the tip!

I will be in Ma next month too. I have a question for Naplo999:
Is 2WD enough for the road or 4WD is a must to get to Dominical? Thanks. |
I would not make that drive without a 4WD.
|
Yeah, I agree. Although it might not be needed - I felt more comfortable w/ 4wd. The road is mostly all loose rocks and dirt etc.
In Dominical there are some steep roads - to Pacific Edge and down to a few beaches - that require 4wd. |
Thanks all for the information.
