CR-Which month??

I need to reschedule a trip that was planned for December to sometime in March, April or May (flexible). We are heading to Arenal and Alajuela. Do any of these months have better weather? Thanks for all of your help.

I find March and April to be the hottest months in Costa Rica, so I'd personally go with May. Even though that's the traditional start of the rainy season, the rains are not likely to interfere with travel at the beginning of the season as it would be, say, now.

May begins the low season too, so you should find more availability and better prices, although with Easter falling very early in 2005 (late March), I'd think April should be wide open too.

Just a little hint... rainy season is from May - early November.

Another thought. Even in March and April, the areas of Arenal and Alajuela will not be too hot. Beaches, yes!

Have lived in C.R. for 10 years now. April and May definitly the hottest months. In the northern province of Guanacaste in May can be over 100 degrees on the beaches. If you are going to Arenal and Alajuela the temperatures will be nice.

Happy travelling!
