CR - Police Badge Exchange
 

Well, I think I am finally going to ask a question no one else has ever asked! A fellow Peace Officer (RCMP) is a HUGE badge collector and is begging me to take some Mounted Police badges with me when I visit Costa Rica in February. The idea, of course, is to exchange the RCMP badges (shoulder) for some authentic Costa Rica ones. My question....does anyone (i.e. Latitude9Lisa) know any officers in CR that are collectors and/or interested in doing some exchanging. Thank you.

Bob, I think you will find a "collector" just by walking in any police station. This is a huge hobby among officers worldwide. They also love tee shirts or similar things with law enforcement logos.

I have not been to Costa Rica, but my daughter(a police officer) and I have been to several Caribbean islands, and we have just walked into the local police station and asked.Some of them had badges to trade, some didn't, some gave us a tour of their police station; we almost always received a friendly reception.

Correction... I meant patches (the cloth ones sewn on) not badges.
