COZUMEL CHANKANAAB PARK

IS THE PARK OPEN ON SUNDAYS? IS IT LESS CROWDED IF SO? WE ARE PLANNING ON DOING THE ROYAL DOLPHIN SWIM AND WAS WONDER WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD DAY TO BOOK THAT.

Careful with your caps, mimz. People will think you are yelling at them. :-)

I believe it is open on Sunday but maybe someone else will confirm. Make sure you arrive early before the cruise ship tours take over the park. When I was there we had very few people for our royal swim. The dolphin swim was incredible but be preared to drop $15 per photo or have a friend come along to take pictures of you while you are doing it.

There is a nice little restaurant right on the beach.

It is a beautiful place! Enjoy!

Thanks Diana, for your post, I also feel very strongly about this. Now, to Mimz: yes, Chankanaab is open on Sundays, it's the best day to go because there are usually no ships in on Sunday. The snorkeling is great there. Please think twice about swimming with the dolphins.

If you have a car I would go to the beaches next door (Corona or d'azul) which don't charge $14 admission plus $3.00 for the lockers (they are free)and you snorkle the same reef. Swimming with Dolphins is in a small fenced squared-off region. I agree that I would think twice. Sunday there aren't the cruise ships but lots of Cozmelians come. The beach is large, so it didn't feel crowded.
