Cozumel Beach Excursion

Will be in Cozumel for 1 day in Nov. on a cruise. Want to go to a really nice beach and relax. Shore excursions offered by cruise line are costly and not that appealing. What are our options that would not be too far from the cruise ship? Don't mind taking a cab if it means a nice location (beach). Went to state park once and really disliked the beach area - really what beach area. Again, we are looking for a lovely beach with facilities. Thanks!!!

Cozumel has several beach clubs with facilities, resturants and water toys (some included and some an extra fee)

Look at Mr. Sanchos, Dzul Ha Beach Club, San Francisco Beach Club, and Paradise Beach Club.

Take a look at this link for more info:

Another option is going to Chanakaab Park. It's a $10 cab ride from the cruise docks. Nice beach area, great snorkeling and they offer a resturant and bar. Beach chair service avabilabe. Best cerviche ever.

They have several add-on for addtional fees activites, but we didn't do them. Here's their web-site:

We were able to spend the morning (not crowded at all) at the Chanakaab and then the afternoon shopping and looking around San Miguel.

Nachi Cocum is very nice...10 minutes from Cruise Ships

Thinking of Nachi Cocum. That seems to be really nice. Price includes food and drinks. Any thoughts on this choice???????????

Nachi is great, but I thought it was closed. Unless it has reopened since last February when we were there. The road was chained and closed last winter. I'll check with some of my island friends.

It was open when we went in September. The price includes a nice lunch and all you can drink. Also, the beach and water are beautiful. Though not included in the entrance fee, we went on their snorkel trip....also very nice

Islanders say; "It is open. The gate is always chained but there should be a guard." Yeah! I love this beach. The food is good at Nachi too.

I guess that settles it. That's where we will be heading!!! What is a good SAFE website to book excursion on in advance?
Thanks to all of you for taking the time to help me!!

Book directly on-line. While they'll take a credit card for the deposit (very small amount), they only accept cash at the property. Enjoy!

Nachi is booked - now trying to choose between Playa Planacar or Playa Azul. Anyone have a preference and why?

TC Oct 27th, 2010 08:56 AM

Playa Palancar is a big beach club on the south end. Playa Azul is a small hotel on the north end. Palancar will be similar to Nachi and in a similar location. Azul will be a completely different feel. It is on the north end reef for snorkeling right from shore.

Why are you adding a second beach club stop to your day on the island?

You might try Nachi a second time. The first time I tried it said it was booked, but a week or so later I got in.

We did the Passion Island tour with http://www.cozumelwatersports.com/ last year and this year we went to their new Ocean Beach Resort. Both places are great and we got really nice deals.
