costa rica with kids

We are hoping to go to Costa Rica this March with our 5 and 11 year old. We started planning a little late, so Tulemar Bungalows are already rented. What other recommendations do you have for places to stay? We are interested in water (pool or beach), wildlife, outdoor activities, and good food.
Thanks!

What areas will you go to? We loooved the Toucan Rescue Ranch for a day or two (they will pick up at airport). No pool, but breakfast with baby sloths! We stayed at Costa Verde in Quepos which the kids loved. Mine were 19, 10, and 2 when we went.

This is our first time to Costa Rica. I was thinking Manuel Antonio and Arenal, but I would love any recommendations that you have.

Silencio del Campo and Los Lagos in the Arenal area are very popular with young families. The Arenal Observatory Lodge is great for seeing wildlife but will be further from town off a long bumpy road. If you want more posh, the Springs Resort and Spa is really nice. We stayed at the Toucan Rescue Ranch too and think it's great for a last night to be closer to the airport.

We did Maneul Antonio and Monteverde (we're going to Arenal next time).

Personally, one of my favorite things to do in CR is going fishing (certainly a relaxing way to spend a day on the water). Here's a great guide I found while planning my next trip down there: http://www.vacationscostarica.com/tr.../sportfishing/

For wildlife I think it's pretty hard to beat the Jaguar Rescue Center: http://www.jaguarrescue.com/. That place is always a hit with the kids. The SIBU Sanctuary is another great spot for seeing wildlife up close: http://sibusanctuary.org/visit-sibu/
