Costa Rica-Wet T-Shirt Contest : - )
I am leaving in 2 weeks. While reading trip reports that others have posted, I note that while on excursions throughout the day, they stop to take dips in various waterfalls, swimming holes, etc. Does this mean that I should be wearing a bathing suit every day under my shorts and t-shirt? Our shall I be, (as my husband so delicately likes to put it) sharin' the wet booty?

If you are visiting any of the waterfalls, pools, or hot-springs that are popular enough to be mentioned on this forum then you'll want a suit. Public nudity (including topless for ladies) is illegal, and socially unacceptable in Costa Rica. Despite the dental floss bikinis on the beach, "sharin' the wet booty" would be a serious affront to Tico sensibilities.
My wife usually wears quick drying nylon shorts with a bikini type lining, then does that trick where ladies put their bikini top on through the sleeve of a shirt when we're swimming around others.
There are hundreds of waterfalls, swimming holes, beaches and hotsprings where, if you prefer it, nudity is acceptable, simply because they are so isolated that the chance of anyone happening along is negligible.
