Costa Rica Weddings

Hello!
We are planning a destination wedding for Fall 2013, and have our hearts set on Costa Rica!

Although I have done a ton of research, and seemingly have narrowed down the hotel list, I have been unable to find any reviews on actual WEDDINGS at any of the venue's/hotels!!

If anyone out there has any input or advice, I'd love to hear from you!

The hotels we are currently looking at are:
JW Marriott
Westin Playa Conchal
Riu Palace Guancaste (opening late 2012) - since this hotel is not yet open, I know I won't find reviews - but has anyone been married @ the Riu Guancaste?

**We will have large group of 40+ which will include children aged 1-12, so an all-inclusive, kid friendly hotel is important!**

Thank you in advance for your help!

Check out Tropical Occasions http://www.tropicaloccasions.com They do a fantastic job, and help plan weddings all over Costa Rica. Their website has tons of pictures, as well as a blog with updates and personal stories! Good luck and congratulations!

This might be literally and figuratively raining on your parado. Fall is the wettest time of year in Costa Rica. Guanacaste is slightly drier than the rest of the country, but if you're looking for good weather, that's not the time of year to go.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Jeff is right but we honeymooned in CR in Oct and did not experience much rain (everyone says we were lucky!) JW Marriott is wonderful but it is away from town. I'd recommend something in town like the Diria Hotel and Matapalo condomium's which is part of the same complex. The penthouse units are unbelievable. There are several locations that could host your actual wedding and reception in town as well including the Diria and Langosta Beach club.

Thank you all for your tips!

I will be sure to check out the different hotels and wedding planning companies that you've recommended!

Regarding Fall being "rainy season"... we are planning our wedding for mid to late November of next year. Perhaps I should have been more clear in my original post.

I had read in a few different places that November is NOT rainy, yet it will still be green and lush unlike the middle of dry season. Am I incorrect? Please let me know!

Thank you!

Mid-late November is a nice time of year in the Guanacaste area. It's just after the rainy season so everything is nice, lush, and green, but you have clearer sunny days as you are going into the drier season. I personally was married in November because I was being married in Guanacaste and this region is dry & brown in the dry season. November allows the best of both worlds - well in this case, seasons :)
