Costa Rica reopens for 6 states only

Starting September, Costa Rica will welcome US citizens, but only if you are from New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine or Connecticut. Of course, there are still requirements of having a negative covid test within 48 hours, and having enough of the appropriate travel insurance, but it is now possible for some folks to travel there.
I’m considering a late fall/early winter trip, having seen 3 other trips fall through!

You have to fly nonstop from those states too. That means only flights from New York JFK or Newark will be serving Costa Rica from the US for now. For example, American's flight from JFK and United's from Newark will return; American from Miami and United from Houston cannot.
Massachusetts and Pennsylvania are being looked at and will possibly be the next states to be added.

New York has come a long way; they were one of the worst states initially. Will probably be a long while for California, Florida, and Texas. I didn't know you could get a Covid test back in 48 hours.
