Costa Rica electric

Do you need any converters or special plugs for the region?

Kinkazote Feb 16th, 2011 01:19 PM

Region ?
Costa Rica uses 115 volts, with US type plugs.

volcanogirl Feb 16th, 2011 01:33 PM

We've never needed them for anywhere that we've gone.

Kinkazote----I think you win for fastest Fodors response---2 min. I saw it and passed it on right away, but then had to leave---so this late response. Thanks.

No need for converter - but - depending on where you are staying, you might want to bring one of those two-prong to three-prong thingies. Many of the more inexpensive or older hotels don't have three-prong outlets.

Hmmmm.... I just read the question again -- and -- the poster doesn't say where she/he is from. From the US, no difference. From Europe and some South American countries, will need converter.

Doesn't matter, the response by Kinkazote has all OP needs to know.

OK. Sorry to waste my energy on the keystrokes.
