Costa Rica driver recommend
I am looking for suggestions for a driver/transport co. to take 2 people from San Jose Airport to Monteverde, then 3 days later from Monteverde to Manuel Antonio, then back to San Jose again.
I am OK with paying the extra cost to ensure that I can depart at the time I choose ($100 or so each way?)). Will I be able to find transportation from the same company to do this? Any recommendations would be extremely helpful. |
We hired a driver from www.costaricashuttle.com .Rates seemed very reasonable. Not sure when you're going, but we'll be using the driver in about 3 weeks, so I can let you know then if you want to wait...otherwise they seem reputable.

I highly recommend Swiss Travel. They have very clean air-conditioned vehicles and wonderful drivers, and the office radios them if there is trouble ahead, like a landslide or a washed-out bridge. I especially like Misael or Esteban. You can write to [email protected]. Tell her that Sandy said Hi!

Check with Arenal.net/monteverdeinfo.com (same company). They do private transfers as well as have regular shuttles.

We went through Leo Rodriguez to arrange our transportation while in CR. Leo set us up with Danny. So, Danny was our driver and he was fantastic. He was always on time. He is a very safe driver and is very knowledgable of his country. I 100% recommend him. Here is his website:

Back to Leo Roderiguez!! He is awesome, our young adult children and we 50 yr. olds loved him when he drove us from San Jose to Tamarindo 1 1/2 yrs. ago. He is a great driver, a college grad, speaks fluent English and French, knows soooo much about his beloved country, I can go on and on. His e-mail address is [email protected] and his phone # is (from the U.S. 011) then 506-378-0001 Pura Vida - CR is so, so wonderful.
