Char and Brad,
Your pictures are beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing. I will be going to CR for 8 days in November. It will be my first visit and I will be staying at the Peace Lodge, as well as the Tabacon in Arenal.
I am so excited now- BTW- te rainbow pictures were breathtaking- what a gorgeous view.

LA-FadeAway,
Thanks for sharing your photos. I really enjoyed looking at them. They brought back wonderful memories of our trip to CR in August. I especially enjoyed the photos of Panama. The place you stayed at certainly is different and interesting.

Kwoo,
The place in Panama is named Punta Caracol Aqualodge. The design is awesome, but we did have a few complaints. Mainly the LOUD construction that was going on and the seclusion, since it was costly to take a water taxi into town. It's not bad for a night or two though. Oh yeah, there were also a lot of jellyfish, so we couldn't snorkel as much as we wanted to and something kept biting me at night (?).

Your pictures are wonderful. We're planning on Panama in January. I had originally thought about Punta Caracol, but decided to save some money and stay in town. Any suggestions as to snorkel guides or such things for Bocas?

Jean

Jean,
We didn't do any arranged tours in Bocas because we weren't there long enough. Our snorkeling was also cut short due to all the jelly fish that were hanging around while we were there. We plan to go back at a different time of year next time, so we can enjoy the water more and spend more time exploring the islands!

Thanks for the great photos! I wanted to mention that last summer (2003) my husband and I traveled to Tahiti for our honeymoon. I remember seeing your name on the Tahiti Explorer chat. LA_FadeAway strikes a cord as my old log in was SugrMag. Anyway - we were in Tahiti a month after you so I was able to read about your trip. French Polynesia is a beautiful place.

Now we are heading to Costa Rica - 12/26 thru 1/8. We seem to be following in your foot steps. Where's the next stop?

I love to travel and am a definite "planner" - I think we'll visit the Big Island next year along with our annual family trip to Puerto Vallarta.

Just got a kick out of seeing your name on this chat! Peace!

Great photos, LA--enjoyed them immensely!

Hey AquaGrl,
That's too cool that you keep going to the same places we've been going. The Big Island is awesome. Be sure to visit Waipio (sp?) Valley. We did it by horesback and it was breathtaking. Some of the best scenery I've ever scene! I also love Puerto Vallarta! Next stop for us is still undetermined, but Thailand is high on the list. Maybe once I finish grad school. You'll enjoy Costa Rica a lot. We had an incredible time there.

AquaGirl Oct 15th, 2004 02:34 PM

Ha! Thailand is our next BIG trip. We had hoped to honeymoon there but it was not the season to visit. I was thinking Winter of 2006...I really do love to plan things out! I love the Big Island too, I lived in Hawaii for about 6 months and Big Is. is my favorite. It will be the first visit for my husband and we have friends who moved there. I'll look for you in Thai-Chats!

LA_FadeAway Oct 16th, 2004 11:30 AM

Yep, Thailand will probably be our next big trip too. I should finih grad school at the end of 2005, so we're thinking early 2006, if I can wait that long! We're doing a quicky trip to the Grand Canyon over Thanksgiving, just because we've never been there. I'm sure we'll take another couple trips somewhere cool before Thailand, but I don't know where yet. Happy travels! Maybe I'll run into you on a Thai board :)
