Cost to enter hot springs???
 

Hi!
I am curious on the current cost to get into Tabacon Hot Springs. I have seen varing prices from $19 to $29.

Has anyone been there just recently that can tell me how much it actually costs to get into the hot springs?? I will be there in 2 weeks.

I was told it was $29 anytime before 7pm & then $19 per person after 7pm. However, we went early July and there was an all day special of $23 per person for the green season. Hope that helps!

We were there about two weeks ago and it was $29 ($41 w/ dinner buffet) all day before 7:00 PM and $19 ($29 w/ dinner buffet) after 7:00 PM. They were not offering any green season discounts that week. We did not do the dinner buffet, but we did eat some grilled cheese sandwiches and fries at the swim up bar, which were pretty good and not too overpriced.

Another important note, they have happy hour specials at night where you can get two drinks for the price of 1 plus a dollar. I believe it's from 7 - 9 at the bar at the far end of the springs w/ the volcano view (which we never actually found) and then from 9 - 10 at the swim up bar in the main pool. The drinks are much more reasonable if you take advantage of the happy hour deal!

MNP, when we were there in December, the prices were the same as those quoted by LAFadeAway. However, we were given bracelets (of course) and we were able to use them to reenter the springs again that same night. Not sure, but I THINK the $29 will cover the entire day and evening should you decide to go back (different atmosphere at night). If we had had to pay again to reenter, we wouldn't have gone back. You might ask them if you go.

Yes, the $29 is for the whole day and night. You can re-enter with the wrist bands.

If you had to do it again, would you stay at Tabacon hotel for a night or another hotel and come to the springs for one day?

I hope you don't mind me tagging onto your discussion thread, but I think it's related. :-)

Has anyone tried, or heard any reviews of spa treatments at Tabacon? Did you need to get reservations in advance? We are not staying at Tabacon, but will be visiting the springs. A spa treatment after a week in the rainforest might be nice...

To answer your question, no I would not stay at Tabacon if I were to do it over again. There view of the volcano wasn't nearly as good as the view from Arenal Paraiso. Also, I can't imagine spending more than a few hours at the hot springs. Too hot and crowded.

I wish I would have tried one of their spa treatments - it looks like they have some outdoor areas around the property that are very secluded in the trees with signs around advising people to be quiet as treatments are in process. It seemed very relaxing but I never got around to it b/c we only had a few hours at the springs. I think you could probably schedule an appt while you are there - but I am not certain on that.

MNP - I wasn't thrilled with Paraiso - our deluxe cabin was very very basic & the staff were not very friendly or helpful. BUT - the grounds were beautiful & the price was good & we could lay in bed at night at watch the lava - so I would still probably stay there again but go in knowing not to expect much.
