Correction--Has anyone ever rented from vacationvillascostarica.com?

Has anyone ever rented from vacationvillascostarica.com? This is the correct site; I posted with the wrong address earlier. They are offering us a great deal on a house rental. It almost seems too good to be true. Since there is no equivalent of a BBB in Costa Rica it is hard to know if a business is legitimate.

I would imagine the reason for such a good deal is due to the current economic climate. Better to get something for the house than to leave it vacant.

Why don't you call your credit card company and ask if they have had any complaints on this company.

No, I haven't, but I saw on their website that they are affiliated with Latitude 9. We stopped in at Latitude 9 when we were in MA, and it seemed like a very legitimate on the up-and-up type business. It's a real estate company. I'd just call them to discuss it and see what kind of vibe you get. Americans have cut back on their tourism due to the economy, so like Mixter said, I'm sure there are some good deals out there.

have the same question about this company. I'd like to hear from anyone else who knows this company.

Also, is there an alternative to wiring payment to a bank e.g. paypal that is commonly used instead of credit card payment?

We rented a condo (Casa Barba Roja) from them in March. Everything went smoothly. The house was wonderful with daily maid service (which we hadn't expected) and an awesome view of the ocean. We also made other reservations with them once we arrived ( canyoning, deep sea fishing and surfing) and everything went as planned. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.
We had to wire payment to them which was a pain, but it was fine.
