corcovado
Take the cogwheel train up there -it stops in the taxi area and can we see any views from there? or must we climb the 220 steps for the view? Husband can't do that climb these days- so is it a complete wste of time?

Malibu,
You might want to mention Rio in your heading as there is a Corcovado Park in another country (Costa Rica). |
Where the cog train stops there is a snack bar and I believe a gift shop. There is a view from there as well as from the train as it goes up, but the view from the top is far better.

Not too long ago they installed an escalator to the top of Corcovado, comes in very handy if you can't make the stairs. Make sure you go on a clear day as the last time I was up there I couldn't even see the statue which was right in front of me as we were in a cloud.
