Cooking classes?

Has anyone taken any cooking classes in Costa Rica or Belize? If so, what did you make, and what did you think about the class? I've always thought that would be something that would be fun to do. Would love to hear about any good experiences that you've had!

I've only done that in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras - can't help you with CR and Belize but will look forward to hearing what other folks have to say!

My wife looked at doing this one but not really native more Creole so we took a pass. Cerro Coyote Creole Cooking School San Ramon, Costa Rica 800-980-0713.

Ambergris has Elvi's kitchen she does moles tamales more
of a buffet than a school but know folks that have cooked
with her.

Merida was where we have done this in the past

yucatantoday.com for best moles tamales on the planet.

Thanks, guys - looks like this isn't all that common in the places we like to go.

There must be schools all over the place in Costa Rica - seems like the sort of thing that would spring up there. I haven't come across any in Belize so no response about that doesn't surprise me. I hope you find what you're looking for!

Maybe they assume I can make rice and beans on my own? :)

But what about rellenos, pupusas, friend platanos, atole, etc.? I hope you find what you're looking for - I have really loved each of my cooking class experiences. You can see photos of the 3 most recent ones by starting at the link and clicking to see the rest:

VG - came across the link below a few months back when I was looking for a hotel or B & B close to Pavas. Don't know anything about it, but it's a start.
