Coming soon - an updated look for Fodors.com
Hi everyone,
I’m excited to let you know that later this week, Fodors.com will be sporting a new look and feel. As you’ve probably heard, we’re celebrating our 75th anniversary this year. Our web team has been hard at work on an updated look for our site in honor of this significant milestone.
The crisp, new design will make it easier for you to find the information you need without affecting the site’s core functionality and should not affect or change the way you currently use the Forums. We’d love to hear your feedback, and certainly want to know if you have any problems or questions. As always, you can reach me at [email protected].

Well. The orange bar at top is an eye-opener, I can live with it though.
But...the posts are very, very hard to read now, they all seem to blur together as there is very little space between each post. Also, what is with the odd centered alignment? Plus, just looking at above post, half of Jeff's name is covered by 'Add a reply' and half of my name is covered by an additional 'Add a reply' button.

I like it. It's very "clean" and orderly. BUT ... When I first came to the Forums page this morning, it wasn't. The things that Tully pointed out above (centered text, orange ADD A REPLY buttons in odd places, text covering up other text) were all there. But the minute I logged in, everything aligned. I logged back out, just to see what would happen, and everything stayed lined up. That's good, obviously, but if I had never visited this site before and saw that initial hodgepodge, I would never have come back. Is there some kind of glitch?
I like the organization of the rest of the site too. It seems a little easier to find things.
Thanks, Amy.

Hi everyone - thanks so much for the feedback. Just to clarify, the center spacing is not part of the new design and we're working to fix it. We're also working on pumping up the line that separates the comments. If you have any other problems or questions you can reach me at [email protected]

Ido not like it.
It offers nothing new.
There was a drop down menu at the top where you could go from one Forum to the next...where is it !???
Why does the left hand column have to scroll along with the main posting section.?
I am in the Mexico and Central America Forum...... I want to go to Europe Forum ...How !!??
You know there is a Universal saying, "If it ain't broke , don't fix it "!
I see at the upper right hand side " Change Forum" ,but it is over written with the word FORUM...so all I can read is " nge Forum"
Remember the older version where each side scrolled separately.... how about bring that back.
Then when I click on # 1 in the left column, I can read all the postings without winding up at number 46 on the left column when I am finished reading !

For me it's not the size, it is that the font itself is weird and the between line spacing is strange. It is definitely not 'standard' and difficult on the eyes. I also hate how light the text is on the 1-25 list of topics. It's so faded out. And bring back the line between replies. Rumor has it it's there but I can't see it

@Percy - please try logging out and back in, refreshing your page, or pressing F5. It sounds like you are not seeing the page in the correct format.
We're working on resolving the font issues as well.

Yes I pressed F5 and refreshed to a more readable page with the Chgange Form inthe upper middle like it was.
Now if I can only get the left hand column and the postings column to NOT scroll together at the same time :!!!

Has anyone else noticed this:
When I open up Fodors, the orange head bar is so wide that only a small part of fodors actual posting is seen below.
I have my Menu bar and the Status bar on top like I am sure everyone else has, then underneath this is the huge Fodors orange bar.
I used to be able to click on the " Change Forums" and the whole drop down menu would be visible...
now only half is seen and you have to scroll to get to see the bottom half.
Wonder why Fodors Orange bar is so wide!
Will advertisments be running in the upper segment of the orange bar. ! hmm
