Cheap/nice SJ downtown hotel
 

San Jose CR for one night in june, wondering if anyone knew of a good/$70.oo or less hotel downtown near restaraunts and bars that would be a good choice. Also how could I tell the taxi driver to get there and what taxi should I take from the airport...any suggestions?

Hello, the best choice for taxi are the orange airport cabs. You´ll pay a fix price at the airport exit - about 12$ to San Jose downtown. To save money you can also take the public bus to San Jose for 60 Cents and then a taxi to your accommodation. A taxi ride in the center is between 1-3 $. For hotel have a look at www.kapsplace.com . The owner is tica and can give you a lot of informations.

Before exiting SJO, you will see a booth to your left where you pay for taxi fare. You just tell them the hotel you are going to and the fare is set. So nice not to be bombarded by taxi drivers! There will be someone there to direct you to the taxi and off you go.
